Search & Filters
Use the current Stareceipt search and filter surfaces to narrow receipt, ledger, merchant, and status views.
Last updated: 2026-06-02
Overview
Stareceipt exposes search and filtering across receipt and reporting surfaces so you can narrow results by merchant, date, ledger / organisation scope, category, and other fields that the current client build supports.
Keyword search
Common search inputs can include fields such as:
- Merchant name
- Notes you added to the entry
- Category label
Type a word or partial word and use the current client's result list to narrow further.
Examples
| What you type | What it matches |
|---|---|
coffee | Tim Hortons, Starbucks entries tagged with the Coffee category |
uber | Uber Eats and Uber rides |
client lunch | Any entry where you typed "client lunch" in the notes field |
Filter panel
Click Filters (or the funnel icon on mobile) to open the filter panel. Filters can be combined freely.
Date range
Choose a preset or enter custom start and end dates:
| Preset | Description |
|---|---|
| Today | Receipts captured today |
| This week | Monday through today |
| This month | First of the current month through today |
| Last 30 days | Rolling 30-day window |
| Custom range | Pick any start and end date |
Amount range
Enter a minimum and/or maximum amount to show only receipts within that spending band.
Category
Select one or more categories from the list. Receipts must belong to at least one of the selected categories to appear.
Merchant
Some clients expose merchant suggestions from your existing receipt history. Select one or more merchants when that picker is available.
Ledger
If you have multiple ledgers or organisations, use the current client's context or ledger filter to restrict results appropriately.
Added by
Available in some shared-ledger or reporting views.
Sorting results
Common sort options include date and amount ordering. Exact sort choices vary by client and page.
Reusing common filters
For recurring reporting periods (for example month-end or quarter-end), apply the same filter combination manually and then export the filtered result set. This keeps workflows predictable across web and mobile.
Exporting filtered results
Once you have a filtered set of receipts, click Export to download only those results as CSV. See Export & CSV for full details and environment-specific rollout notes.
Tips
- Combine a date range with a category filter to quickly tally a single spend area for a reporting period.
- The Added by filter helps managers audit which team member captured a disputed receipt.
- If keyword search returns no results, check whether the receipt was saved to a different ledger.
