Recycle Bin
Recover accidentally deleted receipts before they are permanently removed.

Overview
When you delete a receipt entry in Stareceipt, it is not immediately and permanently removed. It moves to the Recycle Bin for a limited recovery window before automatic purge. During that window, you can restore the entry.
Receipt images are kept alongside the entry in the Recycle Bin and are restored along with the metadata when you recover an entry.
Opening the Recycle Bin
- Web app: Click Recycle Bin in the left sidebar, below the ledger list.
- Mobile: Tap More (···) → Recycle Bin from the main navigation.
The Recycle Bin shows recently deleted receipts that are still inside the restore window.
Restoring an entry
- Find the entry you want to recover.
- Tap or click the Restore button.
- The entry is restored if it is still inside the retention window.
Retention period
Deleted entries are retained for a limited recovery window before permanent cleanup. Retention behavior may vary by deployment policy and account configuration.
What is preserved in the Recycle Bin
When an entry is in the Recycle Bin, the following is retained:
- All extracted fields (merchant, total, date, tax, category, notes).
- The original receipt image.
This page does not assume a universal permanent-delete button, bulk-empty action, or audit-log entitlement unless your current client explicitly exposes those controls.
