Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Stareceipt and its associated applications and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to use the Service in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@stareceipt.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
- Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use automated means to access the Service in a way that exceeds reasonable usage patterns without our prior written consent.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the receipt images, expense data, and other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
We do not sell Your Content or use it to train our AI models without your explicit consent.
5. Subscription and billing
Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. Prices and plan details are displayed on our pricing page. Prices, billing currency, taxes, and availability may vary by country, region, storefront, or platform. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If you purchase a subscription through Apple, payment is charged to your Apple ID after confirmation. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
If you purchase through an app store or third-party payment provider, that platform's billing terms, technical requirements, and mandatory regional consumer rules may also apply to your purchase.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
6. Refunds
Please see our Refund Policy for information on refunds and cancellations. Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy limits any refund or cancellation rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
7. Regional consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you may have non-waivable rights under the laws of your country, state, or province. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or limits rights or remedies that cannot be lawfully excluded, restricted, or limited under applicable law.
8. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-extracted receipt data will be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before relying on it for financial, tax, legal, or compliance purposes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stareceipt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death, personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings.
11. Governing law
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, these Terms and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer residing outside Ontario, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the mandatory consumer protections of your local place of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts that applicable law permits.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
